Mayming

Mayming is cellist Semay Wu and vocalist Seaming To. They met while studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Their work involves vocals (and laptop with effects and electronics) and cello with loop sampler and effects. The music consists of composed and sometimes classical pieces that are used as the basis for improvisation. Radio 3, BBC Radio 4 and France Culture. Emily Hall read music at the University of York then after a year studying orchestration with Yan Maresz in Paris, she studied for her Masters at the RCM with Julian Anderson. She was subsequently awarded the Gilbert and Eileen Edgar Junior Fellowship at the RCM and a Composition Fellowship at the Tanglewood International Festival of Music. Since 2007 she has some composition students at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Emily also co-presents the c3 show on Resonance 104.4 fm.
